The Greater Chicago Icelandic Open, Sept 19th

September 19 @ 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM CDT

The Greater Chicago Icelandic Open, at Hilldale Golf Club, September 19th, at 1pm.

We’re excited to announce our confirmed sponsors for the 15th TGCI Open at Hilldale GC, Sunday September 19th.

The Blue Lagoon donates skin products for everyone! Other prizes include: $500 from Icelandair; two hotel nights from Hyatt Centrum Mag Mile; Blue Lagoon products for everyone;  GCIO golf balls for players; tickets to a Cubs game from Porter Pipes (Binna & Bud); Icelandic candy bag; medals and the trophy for the Champions.

We have medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and the “Traveling” trophy for the winning team. We’ll also have prizes for the ‘Longest Putt’ and ‘Closest to the Pin’, and all players get The Greater Chicago Icelandic Open signature golf balls. For $38 you’ll get so much more than 9 holes with a cart. Sign up today and if you know of anyone interested, please get her/him to play. We’ll find partners for single players.

TGCI Open is a 9 hole tournament played in teams of two players. The format is Texas Scramble where each player hits a drive and the team picks the one they want to use. Both players hit their next shot from that location and then pick the better of the two shots and so on until the ball is holed. To speed up the game and finish in about 2.5 hours, teams who reach a double par can pick up the ball. This format is great fun and so is the socializing at the awards ceremony after the round where we’ll enjoy food and drinks. There’s a great sushi place on the golf course if anyone wants to make a night of it.
